Midnight in the gardens of Brooklyn....

Is an amazing book of short stories by Harvey Swados which brings us to fiction which leads right into... Tis the season: I am applying to grad school for the last and final year. This will mark the the third year I apply, the second year I apply seriously and the first year I apply not in life crises and completely sober. I was sobes last year but things were still mad hectic. So...... im gonna give it another whackaroo. If it doesn't work, fuck it! Chris and Charlie already approved my book proposal and it will be coming out this time next year, of course updates as the blessed event approaches. Basically it will be a collection of essays and criticism on such things as music, popular culture, modern gender politics and whatever else suits my interests. Thanks Charlie! Thanks Chris! Literally, words cannot describe my excitement!(more on this later, i'm not trying to seem nonchalant but im big on jinx's)
Not to break any big surprise bubbles, but LA Record has some things up its sleeve for this upcoming year, I cant speak beyond my own project but lets just say were coming to a fire hydrant near you, and were coming to you glossy.... No more! My lips are sealed!

There is a wonderful dog named Seca staying with us till this friday, I've been taking her on long walks and its incredibly theraputic, unfortunately Leon is not as psyched. Girl Talk also came and crashed at our house with his whole crew and Frank, plus mountains of merch (600 t shirts!) so its been kind of a full house.

So last night I went to go see the Lewis and Clarke band play at some shiteous bar in Manhattan that had like drink minimums to get INTO the fucking bar, I was like I'll get a pellegrino, it was FIVE DOLLARS! i hate Manhattan! uggh, i put a hex on you!in any event it turned out okay because lou played an AMAZING show and it was worth the pellegrino. and since it cost so much I stuffed it in my purse and found it there this morning on my walk to work, it was a refreshing morning treat. You can read more about it in tomorrows Live From New York.

The other pics r Capri and I being weirdos in the Bubby's basement photobooth, Sarah and Dave hangin outside waiting for Lou to get through the Holland tunnel and to the awful club.
Oh city city city kitty kitty kitty, i hate u so.

Creem Day dream: Out here in the field we fight for our meals.

So anyone who knows me knows I love to have my picture taken. This started around ten when I had to start getting head shots for work stuff (thats a whole other post) neway, I love it love it, so thank goodness gooseberries that one of my best friends in the world, Marianne Williams, just happens to be an amazing photographer. So here are some shots from our last photo shoot.
The theme was 1970's stoner girl who loves rabbits.
We used foot foot, monster bong and the creems that <3chris<3 gave me as gifts for props. It was kinda cool holding the bong, i peeked inside but alas it was just filled with dust and memories floating out like ghosts.

love and hate: when its over its over?

yesterday was the art parade so char and i packed our hot (as in sweaty) asses onto the jmz and schlepped it out to soho. im glad we did though because it was actually really awesome and even though i didnt get a picture of this, some woman decided to make a giant 4 tierd chocolate vanilla blue fondit cake covered in these gorgeous icing flowers, she was cutting it up and handing out pieces to people. it was actually delicious. and i knew that the stuff covering it was called fondit because of my new favorite show Ace of Cakes! I LOVE Duff and want to go visit him in baltimore. I want to rent a car and drive up there. thats a capri activity though. capri is a good travelling companion. CAPRI IM COMING SOON BE PATIENT! Im like obsessed with ace of cakes thoygh and ive taken my love of the food network to the next level. babysitting is great for many things top amongst them is nice food soft clean couches and endless cable.
neway, as char and i were walking home she started flipping out because the sunshine was showing troll 2 at midnight with a q&a with the cast and she got all xcited and started jumping up n down like the dill that she is, so i took her picture next to it and i had to hear about it all the way home on the jimz. she couldnt go to see it though cos last nte james had a end of summer bbq which was actually awesome and surprisingly full of normal looking people, TONS of them, i was surprised, not a serial killer among them. unfortch i didnt get a picture of james. but i did get all these other gonzos.
somewhere up n that mix of pics is buddy, alice, gay, hee har, jason, jim, orin and i cant think of who else. oh, and cretan pants makes an appearance on chars steps.

so basically today is sunday and from all the blog reading and "research" ive ever done i know that youre at least supposed to wait to blog on monday, but i can pretty much tell u that my weekend is over. i just sat here on my bed figuring out finances on my little phone calculator and i cant spend one more red cent. the sad thing is that i only spent 20 bucks yesterday and that is like a luxury, like, i feel GUILTY.
neway, im officially back and ny is being smug and muggy and giving me all kinds of attitude, so i really needed something like yesterday to hold me over: an amazing day with friends. ive been been homesick and and daydreaming about la. i really think that for the first time ever, im questioning this great big city and my days might be numbered. but i do know that there is initial comeback lows and that k is moving here in less than 3 weeks and that if i moved to la what would i do? write commercials? im destined to walk the thin line. Chrissy, Chrissy Chrissy, I yearn for your brassy.

until we meat again.

basically, my mommy is in a bookstore waiting for me so im going to make this quick but... my favorite antique store: spudz!
hangin with marianne and her new bunny foot foot.
k's amples amples.
smach was watching the jerk when i showed up. cruisin by tai luvs (formerly luvs hotdogs for thoes not in the know)
amoeba and the beautiful sky from my porch the morning i left.
my mommy made me homemade enchiladas with our family mole! A tiny plate just for me! im spoiled.
see u soon new york, im coming home.

so much carne was consumed on this trip, i feel sort of primordial and i little sicko, i have to be honest. in fact this trip was full of extreme eatins. im not going to get into the elvis presley flasher here, but lets just say it involves 2 pieces of buttery french toast bananas peanut butter and bacon. yikes, right? i know, i know.
anyhoosie, besides that im kinda bummed on leaving, not that i dont <3 ny but this trip was super fantastic. i saw everybody i love and then some. although i didnt get to see mari, mike, mike, chad, and ry. im super bummed on missing ry especially cos he only comes from japan like once every year and he pops up at the most unexpected times. but ah well, that is life.

here are some pics of my final days in town. i love la.
