Midnight Train to Georgia

So I'm leaving in a couple hours and I'm filled with the excitement of going home, but also, the melancholy of leaving so many loved ones behind, even though I know I will see them all again. My soul is re-charged and I spent yesterday and today running around trying to catch up with as many friends as possible, as time seemed to speed up around Tuesday night and I realized it was quickly slipping away from me.
Lisa and I had brunch at Egg and I bought her a Fart Whistle at Kings Pharmacy. Todd and I had lunch in Greenpoint and discussed the biz. Todd's book is going to be published next year. A wise man told him so, but also because he has a really good agent. I miss Opium. Todd's dream of becoming a member of the snotty literattie is about to come true, watch out Benjamin Kunkel, there's a new preppy academic in town.
I met beautiful tiny perfect Willa Lipsen, two weeks old and already a beauty. Oliver my little man is not so little any more and I was most sad to say goodbye to him. I absolutely love that family.
Then Charo, Dorothy and Peter cooked me hobo dinner in Fort Greene and introduced me to the genius of "The Room".
Quite possibly the greatest film ever made. They have midnight screenings once a month at the Sunset 5 and I cant wait to get back and go. Pure masterpiece it is.
Blair and I bro'd down and I was reminded why I love him and finally HeeHaw and Laura and I watched American Idol, just like old times, even though none of us know whats going on this season, except that Paula still talks to Scat Cat in the bottom off her coke cup, and you know what? That's enough for me.
Athena, I'm bummed you were in Florida, but don't worry, and don't worry either, Frank, Jory, Rachel, and Chris K, I'll be back in July to dress you up in my love.
Goodnight NY, I love you!
